憍陳如

(憍陳如, 憍陈如)

(or [lang id =1028]憍陳那) Kauṇḍinya; also [lang id =1028]阿若拘鄰; [lang id =1028]阿若憍陳那 Ājñātakauṇḍinya.

(1) A prince of Magadha, uncle and first disciple of Śākyamuni.

(2) A grammarian mentioned in the Prātiśākhya sūtras.

(3) Vyākaraṇa-Kauṇḍinya, who was told by the Buddha that a Buddha is too spiritual to leave any relics behind. Eitel.
